Factory Worker Kills Colleague Over Tea, Held | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The city police on Friday arrested a factory worker for allegedly beating his 22-year-old co-worker to death following a scuffle over making tea.
The murder took place in Vishvakarma Industrial (VKI) police station area on Thursday night.
VKI SHO Ramesh Saini said the accused was identified as Lakhan Kumar (20).
As per Saini, preliminary investigation revealed that Kumar and the victim, Mohan Tanwar, had a noisy quarrel over making tea and washing dishes.
The two pulled out their old grudges against each other as the fight dragged on during the verbal spat.
“The two traded a stream of invectives before the accused punched at the victim’s neck multiple times,” said an official, adding that the fight began sometime after 6 pm. Tanwar fell on the ground as others rushed to check on him. He was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
“Mohan was already knocked unconscious by the time other persons had arrived at the scene. We examined the crime scene and also spoke to other workers, they all pointed us to Kumar because of the fight that had preceded Tanwar’s murder,” said an official.
Police claimed that the accused was rounded up before he could flee. The team brought him to police station for interrogation during which the accused revealed that was affronted by Tanwar’s foul language and hit him repeatedly.
Police said Tanwar had been working in the factory for the past four years.
Police handed over the body to the family after post-mortem. Cops suspect the victim died of blunt force trauma. “We are waiting for the post-mortem report (PMR) to shed more light about injuries leading to Tanwar’s death,” the official said.
