Jaipur: A factory that was allegedly manufacturing fake iron tin sheds and selling them by using the name of a leading brand was busted by VKI (Vishwakarma Industrial) police on Saturday.
Ramesh Saini, the SHO of VKI police station, said police raided the factory after receiving a tip-off that the it was involved in illegal manufacture of tin sheds being sold in market in the name of a leading brand.
“We recovered nearly 20 tonnes of steel tin sheds. We also seized a laser machine that was being used by the accused to illegally carve the leading company’s name on the products,” Saini said, adding that the factory manager was later arrested from the site.
Police had been receiving multiple complaints that this factory in VKI area was selling fake products in a branded company’s name. “Police teams examined the area and collected information about the suspects before raiding the premises,” said an official.
VKI police said further investigation is underway to trace other suspects involved in the case. “We are examining the role of some people suspected of having a role in this factory’s production and management,” said an official.
