Family Members Of Deceased Protest With His Body In Tonk | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A day after the death of a 20-year-old man the locals and his family members continued protests at Peeplu town in Tonk. Till late Thursday evening the family members and protestors did not agree for the post-mortem of the deceased and were protesting with the body.
Locals alleged that the youth was allegedly murdered by the men employed by the Bajri leaseholder in the area.
A man, identified as Shankar Meena was found dead at Peeplu town on Wednesday. Police and administration officials till late in the evening were in talks with the protesters to pacify the situation and urged them a fair investigation. However, the protestors were not willing for the post-mortem of the deceased until the arrests were made in this case.
“They have now given a written complaint and we will study and register an FIR. We have promised them a fair investigation into the matter,” said Indu Lodi, deputy superintendent of police, Peeplu. Locals started a sit in dharna and blamed Shankar Meena’s death on the aides of a local bajri leaseholder.
