Fire, Fireman: Kalwar Apartment Hit By Fire, Fireman Hurt | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A major fire erupted on the fourth floor of an apartment building in the Kalwar area of city early on Sunday morning, causing chaos as residents hastily evacuated for safety.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rajendra Nagar said that the incident occurred at approximately 5am and fire crews from various stations were dispatched to the spot.
Fireman Satya Narayan sustained injury during the operation and was taken to a hospital. Police said a family was sleeping in one of the apartments on the fourth floor where the fire broke out. The family was awakened by a thick plume of smoke had engulfed their apartment.
“The family hurried down the stairs. Other residents of the building also evacuated the premises,” said a police official. A fireman was inspecting the place to ensure no one was trapped inside when a stone fell on his hand, causing a deep wound to his fingers.
An electrical malfunction is believed to have triggered the fire. The apartment where the fire started was badly damaged. Many items such as furniture were destroyed. Firefighters discovered two LPG cylinders in the apartment and said they might have exploded.
Police and the fire brigade evacuated the building and extinguished the fire.
