Jaipur: Achievers Polo, a Jaipur-based team, have created history this season by winning 19 out of 24 tournaments played as part of the Indian Polo Association polo calendar 2022-23. No other team in Indian polo history has enjoyed similar success for five years running. The team won all three open Tournaments – Indian Open National Championship, Northern India Open Championship and Jaipur Open Championship played in this season and they also won most of the leading tournaments in Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Mumbai.
“Achievers became the only team in Indian polo history to win the Indian Open consecutively for the last five years. The only other team that comes close in terms of performance and results is Jaipur Tigers led by late Maharaja Sawai Man Singh of Jaipur in the 1932-33 polo season, where the team won most of the leading tournaments,” said Achievers Polo co-owner and promoter Vikram Singh Rathore during a press conference here on Friday. tnn
