Fitbit Versa 2 users are facing this issue after installing new update

Google-owned Fitbit recently started the roll out of firmware update version 35.72.1.23 for the Versa 2 smartwatch but the update is causing more problems for some users. The update version 35.72.1.23 for Fitbit Versa 2 is aimed to patch some existing bugs, but multiple users who have already downloaded the new update have reported a critical issue on the Fitbit Community website. According to some users, this new bug is affecting the display of the smartwatch and for others, it is going completely unresponsive. However, this bug doesn’t seem to affect all users.

A new bug is affecting Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatches
Some Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch users have complained that the company has failed to identify a critical flaw in the latest firmware update for the product.

The above screenshots reveal how the recent update has affected the user by making the touch display non-functional and even taking the wrong prompts. The user also mentioned that restarting the smartwatch was not fixing the issue.

Another user also mentioned that a factory reset of the Versa 2 also went in vain as the smartwatch didn’t pair again with the smartphones after resetting.
Fitbit has not officially addressed the issue and continues to push out the new update without offering a fix for this bug, On the Fitbit Community website, the company is directing affected users to contact its customer service centres with no permanent solution for the issue offered yet.

Fitbit Versa 2 users are recommended not to download the new update until a permanent patch for this issue is released.
