JAIPUR: Flights to seven new domestic destinations will be started in the summer schedule implemented from Sunday at the Jaipur airport, said officials. New flights to Bareilly, Belgaum, Pant Nagar, Nagpur, Ranchi and Patna will start soon.
Flight service to Kuala Lumpur has also been proposed by airlines and the service is likely to start within two months.
“In the upcoming summer schedule, flights services have been proposed to seven domestic cities and one international destination by different airlines. The route for Kuala Lumpur was approved before the winter schedule itself but flight services had not started. In the summer schedule, flight services are likely to start within two months,” said an official spokesperson of the Jaipur International Airport.
Officials said that due to reduced VAT from the coming financial year, flight services will take off this summer season. In the state budget for 2023-24, the state government has decided to reduce VAT on aviation turbine fuel from 26% to 2%.
“Usually, flight services to different cities are proposed in both summer and winter schedule, but starting flight services takes time, due to passenger load and other logistical issues,” added the official spokesperson.
Officials said that on an average 62 flights are operating from Jaipur Airport on an daily basis at present.
