Formation Of New Districts: Formation Of New Districts Likely To Be Reviewed | Jaipur News

Jaipur: There is clear indication that the BJP government may review the decision of formation of the new districts by the Congress government.
The department of Information Technology & Communication, handling the Jan Aadhaar services, has yet not activated rural administrative units like the blocks and the gram panchayats on the basis of the newly formed districts on the Jan Aadhaar Portal.
“On the Jan Aadhaar portal, we had only activated the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) of all the 50 districts of the state post-bifurcation. Since the notifications for rural areas are issued by the panchayat raj department, these rural areas could not be mapped with the Jan Aadhaar portal,” Sitaram Swaroop, joint director of Rajasthan Jan Aadhaar Authority, told TOI.
There is a strong feeling among officials of DoIT that the BJP government may review the district formation process. “This is the reason why the panchayati raj department has not issued any notifications yet for changes in blocks and gram panchayats following 19 new districts. As soon as we get notifications from the department, we would start mapping the updated status of the rural bodies on the portal. In case there is a review by the new government it is an easy task to update the status of ULBs, considering their number is low,” an official added.

Excessive rural focus, infighting led to loss in Chhattisgarh: Congress review
The Congress defeat in Chhattisgarh elections was attributed to excessive rural focus of the government, ‘communal mobilisation’ by the BJP, and prolonged infighting in the party. Questions were raised about the role of EVMs and the Congress’ focus on one person, Kamal Nath, which hindered collective projection of leaders and communities. The BJP won the majority of seats dominated by the OBCs and received strong backing from SC/ST and minorities. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP increased its vote share by cornering the votes of smaller parties like the Jogi Congress. Congress’s poor performance in urban areas was attributed to the Hindutva campaign and stress on caste census.

Octogenarian deprived of govt facilities due to Aadhaar deactivation
Parayya Mathapati, an 81-year-old resident of Menasagi village in Gadag district, is deprived of various government facilities due to issues with his Aadhaar card. His poor fingerprints have led to the deactivation of his Aadhaar card, resulting in the discontinuation of his old-age pension and other benefits. Despite repeated attempts to update his Aadhaar card at a nearby center, his biometrics continue to pose a challenge. He has faced difficulties in obtaining an EPIC card, as well as producing documents such as a birth certificate or a bank passbook. Furthermore, he has not received the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi payments and is now planning to protest at the DC office in Gadag. Parayya’s situation has caused financial strain on his son and daughter-in-law, who are already dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters. The authorities in Gadag are working to rectify the issue, but the resolution process is time-consuming and uncertain.
