G-Dragon breaks silence on drugs controversy: There is no truth to the claim that I have taken drugs

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has finally reacted to the allegations of him being booked in a drugs controversy. The popular K-Pop singer issued an official statement via his legal team, denying any connection to the substance abuse scandal that has rocked the Korean entertainment scene.
It all began on October 25, when it was reported that G-Dragon had been booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of violating the law on control of narcotics.According to Soompi, the cops had stated that they couldn’t “reveal concrete details” because the case was under investigation. It was also clarified that the matter involving G-Dragon was separate from the ongoing drugs probe connected toLee Sun Gyun.
Two days after this was reported, G-Dragon’s attorney issued a statement wherein the singer denied indulging in any kind of substance abuse. “This is Kwon Ji Yong [G-Dragon’s given name]. First, there is no truth to the [claim] that I have taken drugs. Additionally, I have no relation to the news reports about the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. that was recently revealed in the media. However, because I know many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with police investigations and will participate even more diligently,” read G-Dragon’s statement.
Amid this scandal, the singer has been garnering a lot of support from international fans on social media, who have been spreading a positive word for G-Dragon.
