Gangaur: Gangaur Celebrated With Pomp & Show | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Pink City celebrated two-day Gangaur festival with great pomp and show on Friday. The Gangaur ki Sawari started from Janani Deodhia in the evening.
“The procession started from Janani Deodhi of Tripolia Gate at 6.15pm and reached Talkatora via Tripolia Bazaar, Choti Chaupar, Gangauri Bazaar. During the procession, the folk artist showcased their performance,” said a senior district official.
Officials said, on Saturday the procession of Budhi Gangaur will be taken out during the same time and it would also follow the same route. The district administration has made all necessary arrangements to ensure a safe passage for the procession.
“Ramzan, the holy festival of Islam, has also started on Friday. So, all concerned DCPs of Jaipur Commissionerate has been instructed to ensure that there is no communal violence and both festivals can be arranged peacefully. Police officials had taken up a slew of measures like setting up control rooms and installed police pickets at different sensitive localities of the city,” the district official added.
Meanwhile, police were forced to divert traffic on a few roads following the festivals.
