Jaipur: Union minister Piyush Goyal accused the state government of being the only one whose CM, ministers and MLAs faced allegations of corruption. “Here the irony is that the CM himself accuses his MLAs of corruption, but later he gives them ministerial berths. Itis akin to giving the keys to someone accused of theft,” said Goyal.
Goyal was in Jaipur to mark nine years of PM Narendra Modi in office and participate in the party’s ongoing campaign ‘Sampark Se Samarthan’.
“Country will not tolerate a government where you repeatedly appear in the paper (recruitment exam) only to find that the paper has been leaked. Or that the CM’s brother is accused of diverting the urea meant for farmers. The Congress government is the most corrupt in the country with direct involvement in corruption cases. They are acting like they had acted during the emergency, with utter disregard to the constitution and constitutional bodies,” said Goyal in his address to the civil society groups in Jaipur.
Underlining the contribution of RSS in restoring democracy after the emergency, he quoted then Supreme Court judge KT Thomas, “The judge said that if any organization had worked to restore democracy after the emergency, itwas RSS.”
Highlighting the contribution of PM Modi’s nine years in office, he said that scandals and scams had come to an end in new India. “Under the PM Awas Yojna, 19 lakh families were given free houses. I had recently visited one gram panchayat in a tribal area where I learnt that 143 families were given housing under the scheme. All the social welfare schemes are being implemented without any discrimination,” he said.
