Gehlot: Learn Magical Tricks from Gehlot: Shekhawat | Jaipur News | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Reacting to his bonhomie with former CM Ashok Gehlot during the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister, Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said on Sunday that people (referring to himself, Gehlot, and former CM Vasundhara Raje) who come from Rajasthan do talk with each other and it is not unusual.
“I said that there is a difference of opinion between us (Gehlot), but no personal enmity. He (Gehlot) works to keep a family happy, and we work to keep people happy,” Shekhawat quipped while talking to the media in Jodhpur.
The trio of Shekhawat, Gehlot and Raje was seen sitting in the front row before the stage, interacting and laughing, on December 15 during the oath-taking ceremony. Videos of them sitting and chatting together went viral on social media. Gehlot and Shekhawat have been involved in verbal attacks on each other in the last four years and have not left any platform to criticize each other. Shekhawat has even filed a defamation suit against Gehlot in Delhi for dragging his mother’s name in the Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society scandal.
Responding to a question on whether Gehlot had invited him for a cup of tea, he said, “He told me (on the swearing-in day) that he was free now and invited me for a cup of tea. I would like to say with honesty that he appreciated me saying in one of my interviews that if Gehlot invited me for a cup of tea, I would join him. He said, Let’s decide on a date for the cup of tea.” He added that Gehlot initiated the conversation on the day. “He has a 50-year political career, and I can learn a lot of magical tricks from him,” said Shekhawat to reporters in Jodhpur.
Shekhawat had been indicating to Gehlot in his interviews in the past two months that he would drop the defamation suit if Gehlot regretted taking his mother’s name in his statement.
