Gender Diversity Grows At Workplaces Across State | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Footprint of women in corporate workforce is expanding. Call it the corporate compulsion, business logic or social responsibility, the women workforce is now valued more than ever before.
Jaipur-headquartered Shriram General Insurance Company (SGIC) opened a women-exclusive branch in the Pink City and another one in Ludhiana. The entire workforce, from the branch manager to the support staff, are all women and SGIC has plans to strategically replicate the model nationwide going forward.
Anil Kumar Aggarwal, MD & CEO, SGIC, said, “Diversity and inclusion are crucial for organisations to create an environment that fosters innovation, productivity, and employee satisfaction. Studies have found that women who work in diverse organizations report higher job satisfaction. By hiring qualified women at all levels, we create a more inclusive culture that values diversity.”
In fact, the company has female representation at every level and function of the business including some of the key leadership positions. “The CFO and the legal head at SGI are women, which is indicative of the culture the company has built,” added Agarwal.
In the male dominated mining sector, women are also breaking new ground.
