Girl Who ‘eloped’ With Teacher Uploads Video, Says Not Kidnapped | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The 17-year-old girl studying in Class 12 of a village school in Sridungargarh police station area in Bikaner who is said to have “eloped” with her 21-year-old teacher, who is from the minority community, on Monday uploaded a video on YouTube together with her teacher, with the title: “Help please LGBT community”. The girl said in the video that she was in a lesbian relationship with her teacher and appealed to people in her village to maintain communal harmony.
However, police said that even if the girl eloped with her consent, she was a minor and they will have to take action against the teacher as per law.
Meanwhile, a large number of people continued their protest and market shutdown at Sridungargarh town to demand the recovery of the girl and arrest of the teacher.
In their video uploaded on YouTube, the girl said, “We are in a lesbian relationship for a long time. I urge police not to take any action against relatives of my teacher as she has not kidnapped me.”
With her face covered in the video, the girl emphasized: “Hum apni marzi se saath aaye hain, mera koi kidnap nahin hua hai (We came together of our own will; I have not been kidnapped).”
She added that she had not made the video under any pressure. “I am mature enough to take my decisions. Still I will say sorry to my parents and appeal to the police to not take action against my teacher,” she said.
The teacher also defended herself in the video, saying, “I swear on god I have not beguiled her or kidnapped her.”
Many people in the comments section appealed to both the teacher and her student to return home and urged them to take the consent of the girl’s parents.
Bikaner police said they will take action as per law. “The girl is a minor and her consent is not admissible in court. Efforts are on to trace the location from where the video was uploaded,” said Tejaswini Gautam, superintendent of police, Bikaner.
The girl went missing on June 30 and her parents have lodged a case of kidnapping against her teacher.
