Goon’s Eatery On Encroached Land Razed | Jaipur News

Jaipur: In an ongoing operation targeting properties acquired through illegal means by criminals, civic authorities and Jaipur police demolished an eatery and dairy belonging to a notorious history-sheeter in the city.
Additional Commissioner of Crime (Jaipur) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that history-sheeter Rahul Meena, 34, a resident of Vidhyadhar Nagar, encroached upon a significant portion of parkland owned by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) in Kishanbagh in Bhatta Basti. “He established an illegal restaurant and a dairy on the encroached property,” Bishnoi said.
He mentioned that these illegal commercial establishments were operating on government land, and after demolishing the structures, the JDA reclaimed the land.
“This is the first action carried out under Operation Vajra Prahar in the city. The operation aims to target criminals who acquire properties through illegal means,” Bishnoi said.
The Jaipur police stated that they have identified properties belonging to the accused which they believe were acquired through illegal means or built on land that was encroached upon.
“There are 968 criminals listed as history-sheeters, of which 64 who were engaged in nefarious activities have been arrested and their history-sheets have been re-opened,” Bishnoi said.
He said that the police were monitoring the properties and assets of all suspects to verify whether their known sources of income were connected to illegal finances.
According to the police, Meena was listed in their records as one of the most notorious history-sheeters. Additional DCP (North) Dharmendra Sagar stated that the accused had a total of 19 cases registered against him.
“The list of offences include heinous crimes ranging from rape to Arms Act offences,” Sagar said, adding that the accused had sought the assistance of another criminal, identified as Munna Panchal, to oversee the encroached property and engage in illegal activities there.
Sagar mentioned that Meena’s brother and associates had been booked for serious offenscs in Vidhyadhar Nagar. “The accused and his syndicate are also involved in drug smuggling. Local residents also live in fear of them,” Sagar said.
He mentioned that on Wednesday, the police, in a joint effort with the Jaipur Development Authority, successfully removed the encroachments.
