Govt, Ngo Ink Deal To Boost Student Learning | Jaipur News

Jaipur: To increase learning outcomes among students from classes 1-8, the Rajasthan Council of School Education (RCSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NGO Sampark Foundation for five years, officials said on Friday.
The authorities have planned to start the initiative in Dholpur, Sirohi, Baran, Karauli, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaipur districts in the first phase. In the second phase, the initiative will be extended to all 33 districts, said officials.
“We will be providing infrastructure facilities to the NGO, and they will give technical expertise and work together to increase learning outcomes of students. The focus is to ensure that our students learn better and their foundation of different subjects becomes strong,” said Mohan Lal Yadav, director RCSE.
This initiative will cover approximately 65,000 schools over the next five years and subjects like mathematics, English and science will be emphasised.
Officials said Sampark Foundation is likely to invest up to Rs 40 crore to increase the learning outcome among children enrolled in government schools in subjects such as math, English for classes 1 to 5 and science in classes 6 to 8 by 10% during the first year and a 30% increase by the fifth year.
As part of the initiative, the NGO will provide print ready files of worksheets or workbooks to be incorporates in the state workbooks for primary classes, developed based on the state curriculum framework.
There will also be active engagement of Sampark in the training programmes arranged by RCSE or RSCERT for teachers under the foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) programme. The foundation will provide 500 FLN teaching resources in the form of animated videos and audios mapped to SCERT textbooks, 150 print-ready workbooks mapped to SCERT textbooks, 100 print ready worksheets for 100-day bridge programme among other activities that will help increase the learning outcomes of children.
