Govt Okays ₹367cr For Phase-2 Of Bisalpur-jaipur Water Project | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The state government has sanctioned Rs 366.67 crore for the second phase of Bisalpur-Jaipur Water Supply Project (BWSP), officials said on Monday.
BWSP has been designed to deliver drinking water from Bisalpur Dam (Tonk) to Jaipur to reduce the city’s dependence on its groundwater resources.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to sanction the funds for Phase-II of Bisalpur drinking water project for Jagatpura, Pratap Nagar, Mahal Road and Kho-Nagorian in Jaipur district, an official statement said.
The approval of Rs 214.93 crore is for areas around Jagatpura, Pratap Nagar and Mahal Road, JMC-Greater ward No. 119 (partial) and a total area of 19.44 sqkm spread over five villages under Bagru Assembly constituency. In addition, Rs 151.74 crore has been earmarked for the Kho Nagorian area under the scheme, it said. The total area covered under Kho Nagorian are colonies of JMC-Greater ward No. 122 (partial), Ward 123 (partial), Naya Bagrana village area of 15sqkm and an area of 20 sqkm under Bagru Assembly constituency.
According to the statement, main and distribution pipelines of 91.03km of ductile iron (DI) pipeline and 350.59 km of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline laying work and eight high water reservoirs will be done in Jagatpura, Pratap Nagar and Mahal Road area. Similarly, 68.40 km of DI and 286.62 km of HDPE pipelines will be laid in Kho-Nagorian.
