Govt Takes Cognisance Of Martyr Widow’s Fight For Job, Seeks Details | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Following a TOI report on a martyr widow’s lone fight for a government job for the past four years, the education department on Monday sought a report if she could be hired as a Grade-3 teacher on compassionate grounds.
Sunita Gurjar is the widow of Army havildar Sheo Ram Gurjar who had attained martyrdom in Kashmir after being gunned down by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists Abdul Rashid Gazi alias Kamran and his three aides at Pingilina on February 18, 2019. In the same operation, three other army personnel had attained martyrdom and their wodiws in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh got jobs.
“Gaurav Agarwal, director, elementary education, has sought a status report on the application of the woman and if she can be given a job as a Grade-3 teacher. Our chief block education officer Khetri visited her and took her certificates again. We have sent her report to Jaipur,” said Manoj Dhaka, district education officer, Jhunjhunu. Dhaka added that for any teacher job, REET clearance is necessary and so giving her a job as a teacher is possible only if the government as a policy matter grants some relaxation to her.
Sunita Gurjar, on the other hand is optimistic. “Since my qualification as a Masters degree holder and BEd fits me for a job of teacher, I hope to get it. Also other than this, I am not fit and competent for any job. I think I would do better in teaching.”
“The chief block education officer Khetri visited me on Monday and asked me to submit my documents which I had handed over to him. Let’s hope for the best,” she added.
Roop Chand Gurjar, the younger brother of Sheo Ram, said the family has also got a call from Sainik Kalyan minister Rajendra Gudha.
“He has promised that he would personally take up the matter and will speak to the chief minister Ashok Gehlot,” he added.
