Jaipur: A case under appropriate sections of SC/ST Atrocities Act was lodged against BJP MLA Balmukundacharya at the Kardhani police station. The FIR of assault and SC/ST Act was lodged following the directions of a local court in which the court directed to lodge the case against two accused, including Balmukundacharya.
Surajmal Regar, resident of Pithawas Hathoj, alleged that he was working on his farm on August 10, 2023 when Balamukundacharya and Purushottam Sharma came with many men.Balamukundacharya slapped him on the chest and spoke rudely with him. “He has alleged that he was assaulted and words implicating his caste were mentioned,” said a senior police officer of Kardhani police station while quoting the FIR. However, Balmukundacharya refuting the allegations alleged that some people were illegally encroaching his ancestral land and had built a wall on it. “It is a politically motivated case, thus a false FIR is being lodged against me,” the MLA said. tnn
