JAIPUR: A momentous occasion, the inaugural edition of ‘Baghodaya,’ is poised to commemorate the golden jubilee of the National Tiger Project and the fifteenth anniversary of tiger relocation in Sariska.

Jointly organized by the World Wilderness Congress Trust of India (WWTI) and the Sariska Tiger Foundation, this groundbreaking event will delve into innovative strategies for conserving tigers and bolstering their populations across India.
Esteemed tiger conservationists and environmental experts from across the globe are slated to gather at the Rajasthan International Center (RIC) Mini Auditorium-2 for a captivating session scheduled from 5pm to 7pm.

A stellar lineup of distinguished speakers, featuring renowned experts including Vance G. Martin (Chairman of IUCN’s Wilderness Specialty Group and Global President of the World Wilderness Congress), Praveen Pardeshi (President of Bombay Natural History Society and known for his work in the Tadoba project and Maharashtra’s tiger state status), Subbaiah Nalla Muthu (a renowned wildlife filmmaker), Ravi Singh (Secretary-General and CEO of WWF-India), Bilal Habib (Head of Ecology and Conservation Biology at the Wildlife Institute of India), Kairav Engineer (Executive Director of Astral Limited), Mr. Roheet Karu (Youngest Green Oscar winner for nature conservation), Jitendra Ramgaonkar (CCF and Field Director of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve), Anuj Aggarwal (CEO of ICICI Foundation), Daulat Singh Shaktawat (popularly known as the “Man of Wild”), Shikar Aggarwal (ACS, Dept of Forest & Environment, Rajasthan), Saurabh Singh (Head of Government Business of ICICI Bank), Smt Bharti Moraka of Moraka Groups, Dinesh Durani (Founder-Secretary of STF), and many others will contribute their insights.
As articulated by Sunil Mehta, Chairman of WWTI and president of STF, the notable achievements of the National Tiger Project, alongside the challenges faced during the tiger relocation in Sariska, have underscored the pressing need to embark on an unwavering journey towards tiger conservation.
Harnessing the experiences drawn from Sariska, it is emphasized that Baghodaya aspires to carve a niche as a pioneering model for wildlife sanctuaries nationwide. The event is poised to foster enriching learning experiences, establish novel benchmarks in tiger conservation, and initiate profound dialogues among revered conservationists.
The core objective of this transformative assembly is to elevate the tiger population from the existing count of 3,000 to a resilient 5,000, symbolizing an inspirational stride forward in the realm of tiger conservation.
Attendees will be treated to the grand Rajasthani premiere of a film by esteemed filmmaker Subbaiah Nalla Muthu. Furthermore, the Rajasthani version of the evocative ‘Tiger Anthem,’ crafted by Subbaiah Nalla Muthu and Shantanu Moitra, the teaser of which was released on Wednesday, will be unveiled, lending a resounding voice to the cause of tiger conservation. Marking its debut, Baghodaya is poised to become an annual tradition, promising a legacy of transformative impact.
Baghodaya beckons as an epochal milestone, a tribute to India’s cherished tiger conservation heritage, and a beacon illuminating a brighter future for our majestic national symbol.
