Health Dept Identifies 4 High-risk Dists To Eliminate Measles | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Aiming to eliminate measles-rubella by December 2023, the health department has identified four high risk districts and started taking action accordingly to achieve the target. Alwar, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur and Jodhpur are the four districts which have reported such cases in the recent past.
Health secretary Dr Prithvi reviewed the measles-rubella campaign conducted under the regular vaccination programme in the state at Swasthya Bhavan on Monday and gave necessary directions. Under this campaign, catch-up rounds are being conducted to identify and vaccinate children up to the age of five years who were left out from measles-rubella vaccination. Dr Prithvi said the Centre has set a target of eradicating the disease by December and to achieve this, a special campaign of vaccination is being conducted in the state.
Last month, about 90% targets have been achieved in Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi and Rajsamand districts, while direct monitoring is being done in high risk districts.
The department has issued directions to take quick action by sending state level officers to other districts as well.
