Herbal Medicine: Low Turnout Of Women At Job Fairs A Concern For Govt | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Even as over 4,150 persons have been offered jobs at the Alwar mega job fair, which concluded recently, low women participation remained a concern for the state’s skill, employment, and entrepreneurship department.
Of the total attendance of 8,276 at the event, only 779 were female participants, which is less than 10% of total attendance.
Of the total registrations of 28,080 for the Alwar mega job fair, 3,997 were women (14.23%).
Of 4,135 persons offered jobs at the fair, only 376 were women, which is 9.09% of the total recruits.
As many as 4.68 lakh aspirants have registered themselves for 18 Rajasthan Mega Job Fairs. Of these, only 66,909 (14.2%) were female candidates. Of the total participation of 1.68 lakh aspirants, 1.45 lakh were male and 23,122 were female candidates, which is 13.7% of the total attendance.
In all, 56,208 candidates were considered for “Prathmik Chayanit” (selection) by the companies with salaries more than 1.2 lakh per annum. Of these, 50,672 were male and 5,558 (9.8%) were female candidates.
“Female participation is a concern in technical sectors and technical education. In Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) as well, female students are very less in number with a total percentage of 7 to 8. Participation of women in the labour force is quite low in North India compared to South. It is a challenge here. The male-female ratio in the labour force will improve with time. Creating awareness through campaigns and spreading education among women will improve this situation,” said Kishan.
