Jaipur: Patients and their attendants in various hospitals wanted to participate in the state assembly election but there was no system in place for them to cast votes.
Mukul Yadav, a resident of Alwar, whose relative was admitted at the SMS Hospital after an accident, said, never before in his life he missed voting in an election.
“I am not in my constituency as I have to take care of my patient.It is disappointing that I am not able to cast my vote,” said Yadav.
In hospitals, not only in Jaipur but also in other districts of the state, hundreds of patients and their attendants seated outside remained deprived of voting.
There were those who underwent organ transplant, but they reached the polling booth to cast their votes. “I had a kidney transplant in 2018. Today, I stood in the queue to cast my vote despite the risk of getting infected with viruses or bacteria,” said Harshwardhan Singh.

The gathering featured slam poetry, rap performances, and an invigorating open mic session led by talented young artists. Headlining the event was Johnny Sandesh, who delivered a stand-up show, complemented by an engaging act from Patruni Chidananda Sastry and a musical performance by band Varnam.
