Hotel: Ias & Ips Officer Duo Suspended Over Ajmer Hotel Scuffle Reinstated | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The department of personnel (DOP) on Friday issued orders to reinstate IAS officer Girdhar and IPS officer Sushil Kumar, who were placed under suspension on June 13 following allegations of their involvement in a scuffle at a restaurant in Ajmer district.

A CCTV clip purportedly showing a violent altercation between a group of people, including the two officers, with workers of the prominent restaurant on Ajmer-Kishangarh highway had gone viral on June 13. After the video of the incident surfaced, the matter was reported to CM Ashok Gehlot.
A vigilance enquiry conducted by Biju George Joseph, the former ADG (Vigilance), categorised the duo’s offence as “minor” as per All India Services Conduct Rules and opined that the two officers are liable to very light punishment, which could be a halt of one of their increments, said sources.

Prior to the suspension, Girdhar was posted as the commissioner of Ajmer Development Authority (ADA) and Kumar was posted as the OSD for the newly formed Gangapur City district.
After the scuffle late on June 12 night, an FIR was lodged at Gegal police station. The criminal case in this matter is still under probe by the crime branch of Rajasthan Police. Three cops – ASI Roopa Ram and constables Gautam and Mukesh Yadav – of Ajmer’s Gegal police station were also placed under suspension in the scuffle case. Three Tonk district officials were also suspended.
