Illegal Structures: History-sheeter’s Illegal Structures Razed In City | Jaipur News
Additional commissioner of police (Crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that Manzoor alias Bala is listed as a history-sheeter with the Karni Vihar police station. He had recently constructed an illegal structure that violated Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) rules.
As part of an ongoing operation to strike at the financial resources of gangsters in the city, the Jaipur police collected information about the movable and immovable assets of the accused and learned that he had recently set up illegal structures.
ACP (Vaishali) Alok Kumar Saini said that police also wrote to the JDA and in a joint operation demolished the illegal structures. Several locals also lauded the police action and alleged that the accused and his brother often threatened them.
“The accused is a notorious gangster, he has 10 different cases of serious offences including an attempt to murder, arms act etc,” Saini said.
Police also discovered that the accused had been using these buildings to fund criminal activities. “We have also learnt that his brother also has a criminal record and had been involved in similar activities,” Saini said.
Police said that these actions are part of their ongoing operation targeting properties acquired through illegal means by criminals.
The Jaipur police stated that they have identified properties belonging to the accused which they believe were acquired through illegal means or built on land that was encroached upon.
“There are 968 criminals listed as history sheeters, of which 64 who were engaged in nefarious activities have been arrested and their history sheets have been re-opened,” said an official.
He added that police were monitoring the properties and assets of all suspects to verify whether their known sources of income were connected to illegal finances.
