Independence Day: Bsf’s ‘op Alert’ Begins Today At Western Border | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: From Friday begins a week-long “Operation Alert” along the entire western border with Pakistan, with the Border Security Force (BSF) deploying jawans and officers from all its western sectors to guard against smuggling of drugs through drones and any threat from Pakistan’ Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
BSF IG Punit Rastogi is visiting the border areas adjoining Jaisalmer to take stock of the arrangements and for boosting the morale of jawans. He told reporters that like every year on the occasion of August 15, Operation Alert will be started from Friday and will continue till August 17.
He said that the sanctity of Independence Day demands that there should be no disturbances along the border and every possible attempt at intrusion or smuggling should be foiled. Strict watch will be kept on every activity at the Pakistan border, he said.
Along with increasing the patrolling, both on foot and on camels, the number of security check posts will be increased, he said.
“Vigilance will be kept round the clock,” the IG said.
