NEW DELHI: 13,091 new Covid-19 cases were reported from across the country in the last 24 hours. Another 340 deaths took the cumulative toll to 462,189.
The cumulative vaccination coverage has now exceeded 110 crore, with 57 lakh doses being administered in the las 24 hours.
The active caseload has fallen to the lowest in 266 days, and now stands at 1,38,556. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases. Currently at 0.40%, it is at the lowest since March 2020
The weekly positivity rate at 1.18% has remained under 2% for the last 48 days, the health minsitry infirmed in a morning release. The daily positivity rate (1.10%) has been under 2% for last 38 days.
The recovery rate currently stands at 98.25%, the highest since March 2020.
More than 120 crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs so far, the ministry said, adding that over 6.74 crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses are still available.
In the new phase of the universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the Union government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs, the release said.
