At 25%, Dungarpur on top in Covid positivity | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: In Jaipur, the weekly (April 9- April 15) positive rate of Covid-19 is 16%, which is quite high. The state’s highest weekly positivity rate, though, has been reported from Dungarpur where out of every four samples, one has tested positive for the virus.
In Dholpur, Pratapgarh, Jodhpur, Sikar, Bikaner and Udaipur, the positivity rate is well above 10%, which is a cause of concern. The high positivity rate indicates the pace at which the virus has been spreading in that area.
In Dungarpur, the weekly positivity rate has recorded at 25%, which was highest in the state, followed by Dholpur (16.6%), Jaipur (16.4%), Pratapgarh (16.1%), Jodhpur (13.4%), Sikar (11%), Udaipur (10.5%) and Bikaner (10%).
A senior health department official said, “We are keeping an eye on the situation. Necessary directions have been issued to the districts for surveillance and sampling.”
Besides, 10 districts in the state have weekly positivity rate between 5% to 10%. Among those, Bundi has 9.9% followed by Jaisalmer (9.6%), Baran (9.1%), Pali (8.4%), Jhalawar (7.6%), Sawai Madhopur (7.5%), Sirohi (7.2%), Banswara (5.7%), Nagaur (5.6%) and Karauli has 5.4% weekly positivity rate.
Besides, 15 districts in the state are such which have less than 5% weekly positivity rate. Kota has the lowest weekly positivity rate in the state at 0.6%, while other districts which have less than 1% weekly positivity rate are Jalore (0.8%) and Dausa (0.9%). Other districts which have less than 5% weekly positivity rate are Jhunjhunu (4.6%), Bharatpur (4.2%), Ajmer (4.1%), Rajsamand (4.1%), Bhilwara (3.6%), Sriganganagar (3.3%), Hanumangarh (2.6%), Churu (2.5%), Barmer (2.2%), Tonk (2.1%), Alwar (1.9%) and Chittorgarh has 1.1% weekly positivity rate.
