Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s murder: 23-year-old from Haryana arrested for aiding two shooters

JAIPUR: The Jaipur police on Saturday arrested a 23-year-old man from Haryana on charges facilitating shelter and eventual escape of the two shooters from Jaipur to Nagaur after they killed Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi at his residence in Shyam Nagar area in the city.

Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoisaid police arrested Ramveer Singh, a native of Mahendragarh district in Haryana.Bishnoi mentioned that Singh, who had previously studied in Jaipur, played a key role in the conspiracy, providing crucial local groundwork.
“After the murder on Tuesday (December 5), the accused picked up both the shooters – Nitin Fauji and Rohit Singh Rathore – from Ajmer Road and took them to Bagru toll plaza on a bike, where he helped them board a Nagaur-bound Rajasthan roadways bus,” Bishnoi said.

Ramveer was Nitin’s friend, as both hail from Mahendragarh and studied together in class 12 at RPS senior secondary school there.
A team led by Bishnoi, which included additional DCP (West) Ram Singh and other officials, is now investigating Ramveer for being the first in the chain of conspirators.
“Both Nitin and Ramveer studied together. After their schooling, Nitin joined the army in 2019, whereas Ramveer moved to Jaipur to pursue a BSc from Wilfred College in Mansarovar and later an MSc in Mathematics from Vivek College on Kalwar Road,” Singh said.

Last month, Nitin, who was on the run after firing at a police party in his hometown while on leave, contacted Ramveer and asked the latter to move to Jaipur immediately as they had to execute a “bada kam” (a big task).
Around November 19, Ramveer came to Jaipur and stayed at a friend’s place to lay the groundwork. He also scouted for hotels and rooms at relatives’ places for Nitin’s stay.
On December 2, Nitin made a conference call to Ramveer. The next day, the duo moved to a hotel in Gandhi Nagar area. From there, the duo shifted to another hotel in Mahesh Nagar where they consumed liquor.
On December 4, Fauji went to Pratap Nagar, and police suspect that he had gone to collect pistols and 9mm bullets, which were finalized by the gang for the murder.
On Tuesday, the accused left, reportedly meeting two other accomplices, Rathore and Naveen Shekhawat. Both Rathore and Nitin also shot dead Shekhawat. After robbing a scooter from a passerby, Nitin called up Ramveer, who came to their aid and helped them flee from Jaipur.
