Police said that a total of 13 accused have been arrested, so far, in the paper leak case. Search is underway for other suspects, the statement said. On Wednesday, police had claimed to have found Rs 7.97 lakh during a search at a suspect’s house.
The paper was allegedly leaked before the second shift exam on Saturday and the same was discovered on Monday.
The Police Head Quarter then scrapped the exam for the particular shift and decided to reschedule it at a later date. Police found that the paper was leaked from the Diwakar Public Secondary School in Jhotwara, shortly before the exam on Saturday.
Police said the arrested accused leaked the paper before the exam. An estimated 1.62 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam’s second shift on that day.
A total of 19 lakh candidates had applied for the constable recruitment exam, held in two shifts at 470 centres across the state from last Friday and which concluded on Monday.
A senior police official said the exam for the specific shift is likely to be held within a month. Police have maintained that except for the Saturday’s second shift exam, the entire recruitment process was held without any problems.
