Jaipur: Three persons have lodged a case against a woman for cheating them on the pretext of marrying them in the past one month in Hanumangarh. Police said, she is part of an organised gang involved in luring men for marriage and later decamping with cash and valuables.
“The woman, along with a man, had cheated Rs 6 lakh and jewellery from three men. A team has been formed to nab her, aides.”
“As per the FIR, it appears that the woman is part of an organised gang who targeted bachelors for marriage. After organising a fake marriage function, she decamped with cash and jewellery,” said police. According to police, one Neki Ram (25) had filed a complaint stating that he was puzzled since he could not get married.
“He met one Kamlesh who claimed that a poor girl who is also orphan can be a suitable bride for him. Kamlesh claimed that he will ensure that the girl gets married to him and in lieu of this he asked Neki Ram to pay Rs 1.50 lakh for court marriage. Later, the victim met the girl and got married on May 13. After six days, Kamlesh took the girl and they never return.”
It was also found that after this Kamlesh helped the woman to get married to one Dharam Pal (27) and took Rs 2.34 lakh from him in lieu of marriage expenses. tnn
