Ips: Retd Ips Officer Slaps Ncc Havaldar, Fir Filed | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A 38-year-old havaldar from Kashmir, posted at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Jaipur, alleged that retired IPS officer Navdeep Singh slapped him on Friday when his car had a minor brush with the retired officer’s car.
The complainant, Imtiyaz Shaikh filed an FIR against Singh at the Bani Park police station on Saturday. Police have booked the retired IPS under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 341 (wrongful restraint).
Shaikh in his complaint to police said that he is posted at the NCC in Jaipur and had gone to the Sapta Shakti canteen on Friday where his car had touched Singh’s car.
As per the FIR, Singh stepped out of his vehicle and asked Shaikh who he was. Shaikh told Singh his name and said he was from Kashmir. Shaikh alleged that Singh let out a remark about the former’s Muslim identity and slapped him.
According to the FIR, Singh told Shaikh to get his ears checked because in the past every person he slapped had their eardrums torn apart. Shaikh alleged that Singh also threatened to get him arrested and made remarks against his religion too. After a spat with Singh, Shaikh approached the Bani Park police station to lodge a case against the former IPS.
“We have filed an FIR based on the complainant’s report. The Bani Park police station is investigating the case,” said a senior official, adding that a sub-inspector (SI) rank official was designated as the investigation officer (IO) to probe the case.
The Jaipur police in April last year had arrested Singh based on a complaint by his relative in Vaishali Nagar.
Singh was a 1981-batch IPS officer who was posted as DG home guard before his retirement.
