Jaipur Admn Begins Mega Green Drive | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Jaipur district administration has started an intensive plantation campaign from Saturday which will continue till August 15.
“We have a target of planting 10 lakh saplings in all villages with the help of all the departments and voluntary organisations,” stated additional district programme coordinator and chief executive officer of the zila parishad Dr Shilpa Singh.
The state government is getting cooperation from the forest department, agriculture and horticulture department and the nurseries set up by NREGA under the Panchayati Raj Institutions. A few voluntary organisations had been deployed to procure the saplings.
“Under the campaign, neem, peepal, banyan, rosewood, native acacia, gulmohar, karanj, etc., in the category of shade plants and lemon, amla, beel, jamun, guava and pomegranate in the category of fruit plants will be planted in Jaipur district,” said a district official.
The saplings would be planted outside the forest areas, mainly in Amrit Sarovars, cremation grounds, ponds, sports ground, government premises and barren land along the road.
