Jaipur Airport to plant 7,500 trees across district | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A day before the World Earth Day 2023, Jaipur International Airport announced to plant 7,500 trees across Jaipur district in 2023-24.
The drive is part of the airport’s pledge to grow 10 crore trees by 2030, said officials on Friday.
Vishnu Mohan Jha, Jaipur airport director, inaugurated the drive by conducting plantation at Terminal 1 building of the airport.
“On the occasion of World Earth Day, we have decided to plant 7,500 trees across the Jaipur district this year. Every year we will increase our plantation target. It can be seen in the context of strengthening India’s declaration to take a leading position in its commitment at Paris COP 21 to create additional carbon sinks of 2.5-3.0 billion tons of co2,” said an airport official.
Apart from this, 10,000 indoor plants were placed inside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 buildings.
Jaipur airport is also developing a mini forest area in Bichhun village of Jaipur district while 53 big trees have been successfully transplanted to Goner forest area.
