Jaipur Discom: Amnesty Plan Extension: Jaipur Discom Eyes Earnings | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With extension of the Amnesty scheme till end of this year for recovery of electricity dues and pending vigilance checking report (VCR), the Jaipur Discom is eyeing to reduce the pending crores of amount.
Through the Amnesty scheme, the department has collected Rs 20.17 crore and given a rebate of Rs 30.65 crore and around Rs 90.36 crore is pending.
“The scheme has helped the department to generate revenues instead of going completely dry and suffering huge losses. Earlier, the people were not paying any fines but with the rebate amount introduced, they are opting for the scheme,” said a senior official from the department.
Among the regions under Jaipur Discom, it is Baran which has got more than 10K cases pending followed by Bharatpur which has got nearly 9k cases.
“The vigilance team often conducts surprise checks whenever it has come under notice of surcharge power supply. If they don’t pay the rebate amount, we will stop power supply. There is no noticeable pattern whether power theft is more in towns or villages,” the official added.
As per the department, the assessment done across 13 units under the Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited till December last year stands at Rs 141.19 crore and number of VCRs pending was 94,792.
Earlier, after the announcement by chief minister Ashok Gehlot in March, Jaipur Discom had extended the period of the Amnesty scheme till September 30.

Around 3 lakh property owners in Pune may lose out on a special 40% discount on property tax due to non-compliance. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had announced the discount for self-occupying properties, but the scheme was declared illegal in 2019. The discount was reintroduced in April 2023, but property owners are reluctant to submit the necessary forms and documents, such as a no objection certificate from the society. Residents are requesting a hassle-free process, including online submission options.
