Victim Rajesh Verma’s father has filed an FIR at the Murlipura police station in which he said that his son had left their house on Friday afternoon to run some errands.
Verma was allegedly waylaid near a vegetable market by multiple suspects.
The accused ganged up Verma and assaulted him with sharp weapons. One of the suspects stabbed him with a knife which led to excessive bleeding. The five named accused and their aides fled from the scene leaving Verma in an unconscious state on the road.
People ferried a profusely bleeding Verma to the Kanwatiya hospital. He was later referred to the SMS hospital because of persistent deterioration in his condition.
ACP (Murlipura) Pramod Swami said the police arrested five suspects involved in the crime.

A similar scuffle had taken place between Verma and his rival faction a few days ago near Pratap Nagar,” he said.
