The incident occurred near the sub-registration office located at Thadi Market Mansarovar. It was alleged that despite several complaints, leakage in the water pipeline was not repaired. This has led to cave in as soil was washed away. “Complaint was lodged with the civic and PHED officials, but all went unheard,”said a local shopkeeper.
Engineers from the municipal corporation the Mansarovar zone and started repairing the road.
Mahesh Sharma, assistant engineer (AEN) of municipal corporation Mansarovar zone said , “Due to the constant rain, water entered a small pit. The erosion increased and part of the road submerged. The main reason for the collapse of the road was leakage in the water line. The patch will be repaired by evening.”
