Jaipur MLA: Switching Parties Proves To Be Rewarding For Many | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Dholpur MLA Shobharani Kushwah—who was expelled from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and later joined the Congress—and Bari’s Congress MLA Girraj Singh Malinga, who was accused of assaulting a Dalit engineer and joined the BJP recently, are the two prominent crossovers who will be contesting the assembly polls from their respective seats as Congress and BJP candidates, respectively.
In 2018 assembly polls, Shobharani had defeated Congress’ Shiv Charan Singh Kushawah from Dholpur seat and Girraj Singh got the better of BJP’s Jasvant Singh from Bari seat. Shiv Charan Singh has switched over to BJP and will contest against Shobharani from the same seat.
Among others, Darshan Singh of Congress, who had won the Karauli seat in 2013, has crossed over to BJP and will contest from the same seat. This time, Lakhan Singh has been fielded by Congress from Karauli who, as a BSP candidate, had defeated Congress’ Darshan Singh in 2018 assembly polls from the same seat.
Vikas Choudhary of the BJP crossed over to Congress after he was denied a ticket from Kishangarh. Choudhary has been fielded by Congress from the same seat. Similarly, four-time MP Sonaram has crossed over to Congress from BJP has been fielded from the Gudha Malani seat, replacing Congress’s minister Hemaram Choudhary.
A few other prominent switchovers are former BJP MLAs Jalam Singh Rawlot and Tarun Rai Kaga. Both joined Hanuman Beniwal’s Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and were fielded from Sheo and Chohtan assembly constituencies, respectively.

MP assembly polls: Congress expels 39 leaders for contesting against party’s official candidates
The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh has expelled 39 leaders from its primary membership for six years. The expulsion comes as a result of these leaders contesting the upcoming state assembly elections against the party’s official candidates. The decision was made by the party’s state unit chief Kamal Nath. The expelled leaders are either running as independent candidates or on the tickets of other parties like the Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party, and Aam Aadmi Party. Some notable names among those expelled include former MP Premchand Guddu and former MLA Antar Singh Darbar.
