Jaipur Police: Jaipur Police Hunt for Shadowy Figure | AK-47 | Mahendra Kumar | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The teams of Jaipur police tracking Mahendra Kumar alias Sameer, 30, who supplied the weapons used in the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, always wore masks and used a series of false names to conceal his identity as the chief weapons and logistics handler for Rohit Godara’s gang, police officers said.
A senior police officer informed TOI that Kumar, a native of Kota district, is a notorious history-sheeter with 24 cases filed against him. His wife was arrested in Jaipur on Monday, but he escaped. According to sources, Kumar is on the run carrying with him an AK47 rifle.
Police say that Kumar harboured Nitin Fauji, one of the main shooters in Gogamedi’s killing, at his flat where he interacted with Fauji only while wearing a mask and also used a false name.
“He also met another shooter, Rohit Singh Rathore, for a brief period while wearing a mask and asked Rathore not to ask for names and other personal details,” said the officer, adding that both shooters had dumped their weapons near a vacant plot of land on Ajmer Road after killing Gogamedi, which Kumar later retrieved.
According to the police, Kumar has always remained a shadowy figure, and his identification could never be established, even after several sensational murder cases like that of gangster Raju Theth in Sikar last year.
For years, Kumar operated in the shadows, his name and face elusive, yet his presence evident each time gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gunmen executed sensational crimes.
“Now, for the first time, the entire Rajasthan police are on the hunt, attempting to track down the suspect. We have also issued a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information leading to his arrest,” said an officer.

The assassination plot was planned by Godara and his henchman Virendra Charan, who found Rathod as a candidate.
