Modi Virtually Flags Off Vande Bharat Between Jodhpur-a’bad | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the inaugural special train service of Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Vande Bharat express through video conferencing from Gorakhpur. The special thing about this train is that it is included in the country’s smallest Vande Bharat trains with only eight coaches.
Addressing the programme virtually, PM Modi said, “Vande Bharat train has given a new way of commute to the middle-class people in the country. There was a time when politicians used to write letters to get the train halted at their region, now people write letters to start Vande Bharat from their regions.” For the ceremony, Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra and chief minister Ashok Gehlot connected through virtual medium.
Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and other public representatives were present at the function organised in Jodhpur. “In the last nine years many works have been done rapidly in Railways including work for laying new lines, doubling and electrification. With the operation of this Vande Bharat train, the residents of Jodhpur will get a faster and easier means to go to Ahmedabad. With this residents of this area who go to Ahmedabad for tourism, business and medicine will be facilitated,” said Shekhawat.
Vijay Sharma, general manager of North Western Railway welcomed all the guests and in his welcome address said that the operation of Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Vande Bharat Express will give a boost to trade, tourism and industries in the region. During the inaugural run, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the common people present at Jodhpur station on the operation of Vande Bharat and hundreds of people were present. During the inaugural run, public representatives along with the residents welcomed the Vande Bharat Express at the stations en route. Captain Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer of NWR said that regular operation of Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Jodhpur Vande Bharat train service will be start on July 9.
