Jaisalmer: Bhumi Pujan For New Tanot Mata Temple Held Near Int’l Border | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: Bhumi pujan tobuild the new Tanot Mateshwari Temple near the international border in Jaisalmer took place on Saturday.
Prayers and yajna were performed by Mahant Narayan Giri from Varanasi, Toyaraj Upadhyaya from Ghaziabad and Harish Chandra Singh from Jasol. BSF sector north DIG Aseem Vyas and his wife attended the ceremony. Other officers, public representatives and public in large number were present on the occasion. The new temple will be constructed with public help.
According to BSF sources the temple was damaged in 1965 Indo-Pak war. Later, during renovation many ancient idols were found.
The ground-breaking ceremony was performed at the same place where the idols were found. This will also be the site where the new temple will be constructed. ‘Shila Pujan’ will be done on May 22. Around Rs 15-20 crore will be spent on the temple.
DIG Vyas said that Jaisalmer stone will be used for construction. BSF has prepared the design. Mahant Giri contributed Rs 11,000, while Harish Chandra Singh of Shri Rani Bhatiyani Mandir Sansthan gave silver items and Rs 50,000. Social worker Gumana Ram Suthar has announced Rs 25 lakh and Tej Singh Bhati from Mumbai announced to donate Rs 1 lakh for the construction.
