Jaisalmer: Cases Of Influenza Rapidly Rising In Jaisalmer District | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: As reported in other parts of the country, the number of influenza cases has been increasingly spreading among children and elderly people in Jaisalmer district. People have been reporting prolonged cough, fever and body aches and queuing up at the government hospital.
According to experts, H3N2 virus is a respiratory related infection and elderly people, children, and pregnant women are most vulnerable to getting infected.
On an average, 2000 to 2500 patients are visiting OPDs of clinics, private and government hospitals daily.
According to the information, this viral infection has been spreading in maximum parts of the district.
The rise in the number of patients complaining of viral infections and chest congestion reflects how seasonal change is gravely impacting the health conditions of people.
Even after a treatment of 10-15 days, patients are not recovering completely. Patients are taking almost 3 weeks to recover from coughing.
CMHO Dr B L Bunkar said that a few patients infected by H3N2 virus are getting more infections in their lungs. “There is also a chance of getting pneumonia. Often children and elderly people are admitted to the hospital due to deterioration of health. After the fever ends, the cough starts, which is severe and continues for a long time. It is seen that many patients even after 3 weeks are not cured of cough and looking at it, it is important to take precautions.”
Bunkar advised to maintain social distance and wear masks as a precaution from viral infection. However he attributed the sudden rise in flu cases due to change in weather.
