Jaisalmer: A major incident was averted, when a tractor driver was rescued with his tractor, got stranded in a rainwater filled pit accumulated behind Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer. hearing him screaming, passersby called the civil defence, which reached the spot and after an hour, rescued the driver and also took out the tractor with the help of a JCB machine.
Tractor driver Bunty said, he used to cross the road accumulated with water daily but on Monday his tractor got stuck in a deep pit and the authorities saved him on time as he did not know swimming. He protected himself from drowning by sitting on the water canters kept in the tractor.
He said he works with an electricity contractor and for the last 3-4 days he went through the same route. Municipal council fire team in charge Prabhu Singh said that on Monday information was received that a person is sitting on a drowned tractor and is in danger behind Mukteshwar temple.
