Jaisalmer: High-tension Cable Tower Falls In Storm | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: A high-tension transmission line tower built by a private company collapsed in Bhaniyana subdivision of Jaisalmer district in a storm that lashed the area late on Sunday evening.
The 170-foot-high tower bent at the middle and fell in a field where it damaged several trees, but there was no loss of life as nobody was present there at the time. The storm lasted for about 20 minutes, followed by light hailstorm and rain for some time, said residents. Many areas such as Pokaran, Ramdevra, Nachna and Mohangarh also received a light drizzle.
Officials of the power plate company reached the tower site on Monday and took stock of the damage. The collapse of the tower was accompanied by a loud explosion heard from the power grid on the outskirts of the village of Barhat, said an eyewitness, Kailash Dan, a farmer.
