Jaipur: The Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha is set to hold a rally as a ‘show of strength’ in Jaipur on Sunday and give both Congress and BJP a message to announce a Jat leader as the CM face in assembly elections due this year.
Rajaram Meel, president of Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha said the meeting will be a milestone for the community which is emerging from centuries of political, social and economical backwardness. “It is a step towards empowerment of the community. The meeting is objective and demand-oriented,” said Meel. The Jat bodies have been travelling across the length and breadth of the state in the Jat-dominated areas urging the community to devote a day for the cause. “Other than Jat CM, increase of OBC reservation from 21% to 27% immediately and finally increase as per caste-based census is also on the cards. Also, land for hostels to provide much-needed respite to students during exams and higher studies will be demanded,” said Meel.
