Jmc Heritage: Jmc-h Mayor Sets 36-day Target To Collect 37cr Pending Ud Tax | Jaipur News

Jaipur: JMC Heritage mayor Munesh Gurjar on Thursday directed officials of the civic body to collect Rs 37 crore of urban development (UD) tax within the next 36 days. At a review meeting of the corporation’s revenue wing, she said strict action would be taken against officials if the target was not met in the stipulated time.
The mayor instructed officers from all four zones of JMC-Heritage to together collect revenue of Rs 1 crore per day. “A total of Rs 56 crore of UD tax was to be collected in 2022-23, and only Rs 18 crore, which is 32% of it, has been collected so far. In the next 36 days, Rs 37 crore of pending UD tax must be collected. If the target is not achieved, officials should be ready for strict action, including dismissals, in April,” said Gurjar.
She was apprised that JMC Heritage presently has 149 defaulters, from whom UD tax of Rs 67 crore is pending. The mayor instructed the officers to go to the field daily and talk to the defaulters and the public in general for paying the tax.
“Officers must go to the field daily and share their location from 11am till 4pm. First, they should ask people to pay the UD tax as it is in public interest. If people do not agree to pay, their properties must be attached, or buildings sealed. Officials should also organise camps every week in different areas so that people can pay the tax,” said the mayor.
Gurjar was also informed by the officers that two big properties have been identified, whose auction can fetch Rs 50 crore for the corporation. Gurjar then instructed the officers to send an auction proposal to the corporation headquarters so that further action could be taken.
