Jda Fined For Not Giving Land Possession To Woman For 24 Yrs | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The district consumer court in Jaipur has slapped a fine of Rs 2.21 lakh on the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) for not handing over possession of a plot to the allotee for almost 24 years. The commission has further directed the civic body to allot another plot to the complainant in the Anand Lok Colony on Sikar Road.
Savita Lal, the allotee, had participated in a lottery for the allotment of plots under the Prithviraj Nagar Yojona of 1997. The first-phase lottery was drawn on April 5, 1999, and Lal was selected for the allotment process. However, the JDA denied her possession.
“Later, on May 15, 2006, another plot was allotted to Savita Lal in Kalpana Nagar on Agra Road. However, even after paying the deposit amount of Rs 86,375 along with additional fees amounting to Rs 35,375 on April 13, 2007, she did not receive possession of the plot and moved the consumer court,” said a relative of Lal.
The court commission’s chairman Devendra Mohan Mathur and member Seema Sharma gave the order in favour of Lal. The court also directed JDA to pay an interest of 12% till the time she gets the alternative possession on the deposit she had made.
JDA had mentioned in the case that during the allotment, the complainant requested to allot her a plot in JDA’s Anand Lok Yojana located on Sikar Road instead of at Kalpana Nagar. The plot was not given to her because she neither completed the formalities nor took possession of it, the JDA said. In reply, Lal said that when she went to take possession, JDA denied it to her and deployed police to guard the plot.
