Jhotwara ROB: Jhotwara Rob: Pace Slow But Jda Confident To Finish Work By Jan | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Although the construction work for the Railway Over Bridge in Jhotwara is going on at a pace slower than expected, officials of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) are still hopeful of completing the project by January 2024.
“We had constructed all the girders required to construct the new ramp. Now, we are going to fill up the deck and construct the surface of the ROB.In all probability, we would finish the construction by January next year,” Devendra Gupta, the chief engineer (III) of JDA, told TOI.
Now, the engineers have to complete the construction of the surface with traffic moving parallelly on the old ramp. Engineers claim that the traffic on the ROB is actually much higher than was expected earlier.
“Late night, especially after midnight till 3-4 in the wee hours, is the best time for us to carry out our work. But, we had realized that late night traffic in Jaipur had increased considerably. Commercial and private vehicles are moving over the ROB in large numbers even till 2am. By 3 to 4am, essential daily vehicles like milk vans start to ply. So, workers had to carry out the work braving the moving traffic even during late nights,” said Ajay Pratap Singh Rathore, the executive engineer looking after this project.
The worst part about the project is that there is no way that JDA or traffic police can stop traffic on the busy Railway Over Bridge at least for a few hours each day to carry out the work smoothly.
Officials said, if the traffic is stopped on ROB, the diversion is so long that vehicles need to travel at least 5-6 kms to reach the other side of the railway line.

Delhi: Young filmmaker bleeds on road after crash, robbed even as help comes late
A filmmaker in Delhi was left bleeding on the road for half an hour after a collision with another bike, while passersby recorded videos and took selfies. The victim, Piyush Pal, suffered severe head and facial injuries and did not receive immediate help. His laptop and mobile were also stolen. It was only after half an hour that someone stopped to help and took him to a nearby clinic and then to a hospital. Unfortunately, Pal passed away due to the delay in medical attention.

The pollution control panel has issued instructions to prohibit non-essential construction activities in Delhi-NCR and restrict the entry of diesel-consuming trucks into the capital due to the severe air pollution. The measures are part of Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) and aim to combat the deteriorating air quality. The plan includes a comprehensive suspension of construction and demolition activities and restrictions on certain vehicles. The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration in Noida has also announced its commitment to enforcing these directives. The National Green Tribunal has emphasized the need to investigate the psychological aspect associated with the decline in air quality.
