According to police, the incident took place at 1.30pm when Rahul was at his shop. Two bike-borne assailants opened fire in which Rahul sustained a bullet injury on his jaw and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where from his family sent him to a private hospital at JLN Marg,” said Ranjeet Singh, station house officer of Pacheri Kalan police station area of Jhunjhunu.
“By the time we reached hospital at Singhana, we were told that the family members left for Jaipur for further medication of the youth hit by bullet injury,” Singh added.
Asked if the youth had received any ransom call of Rs 30 lakh almost 30 minutes prior to attack, he said, “Nobody has told us about it. This would be cleared only after recording the statements of the youth who has sustained injuries. One of our officer too has left for Jaipur and after doctor’s permission we will take the statements of the youth,” he added.
