Jaipur: Government-run JK Lon hospital superintendent Dr Kailash Meena has been elected as member of executive board of Central Indian Academy of Pediatrics election.
He will give his expert opinion and advice on various diseases and government health policies for children’s health.
Two other members from Rajasthan, Dr Devendra Sareen from Udaipur and Dr Ramesh Chaudhary from Jaipur have also been elected for the same post.
They has been elected with an overwhelming majority to the post of executive board (EB) member from Rajasthan in the Central Indian Academy of Paediatricans (CIAP) election-2024.
The IPA works for the improvement of the health and well-being of children, said Dr Meena, who will hold the post for one year and represent the state.
He said that IPA organises academic activities in the field of paediatrics including continuing medical education (CME) programmes such as conferences, symposia, lectures and other meets all over the country. Meena and other two EB members from the state will also give their expert opinion and advice regarding various diseases and government health policies for children’s health betterment.

Rajasthan polls: Family members up against each other in four seats
In the upcoming Rajasthan assembly polls, relatives will be competing against each other in four seats. This includes a husband contesting his wife and nieces running against their uncles. The elections will take place on November 24 and the results will be announced on December 3. Some candidates are focusing on issues like women empowerment and drinking water in their campaigns. A total of 1875 candidates, including 183 women, will be participating in the elections.
